SMASH THE PATRIARCHY! A Burlesque Benefit for Network for Reproductive Options!

We’re one week out from my next show already! Produced by the one and only Wanda Bones, this one benefits a cause near and dear to my heart.

SMASH THE PATRIARCHY! is our local Portland burlesque community’s response to the growing opposition to women’s health care rights. We stand together for a cause that we believe is essential to showing that women’s health care rights are human rights. In a world where men are the deciding vote on our bodies and our rights we say NO MORE! Together we are dedicating acts and our time to providing money to our local abortion fund, Network for Reproductive Options, for our team BURLESQUEPDX’s Bowl-A-Thon goal! Come to celebrate, rejoice, be angry, fight the system and help us make a stand for what we believe is right!

Rare Vintage Burlesque Presents: The Strippening!

FRIDAY FRIDAY FRIDAY! Peer into the darkness with us and see what mysteries the shadows hold close to their cold hearts in The Strippening! {thunder and lightning} Yes folks, it’s RVB’s Halloween show and I could not be more excited! Our headliner is the incredible Jacqueline Hyde (and is that not the perfect name?) from Seattle! Our guest performer is The Mayor of Chubbytown herself, Ri Ri SynCyr! And back for another go as our guest MC is the sultry Daria from 105.1 The Buzz! I will be bringing two brand-new acts to this show, and they are probably my most elaborately costumed and propped acts to date. They are both based on beloved horror films, one considered the very first, the other a modern-day classic. I’m very nervous and very excited! I’m especially jazzed to once again be sharing the stage with the mysterious Mr. Arcane for the first time since the Gods and Monsters show last year! (And by the way, stay tuned for this year’s show announcement…) Go here for tickets and get ’em quick – they’re going fast! I will see you there – if you dare….     BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA!!!

TONIGHT! Boobie Sign! A Burlesque Tribute to MST3K!

Folks, I feel that my entire burlesque career has been leading up to this moment. Yes, it’s a burlesque salute to my most favorite show of all time, Mystery Science Theater 3000! The first production by that indefatigable Blue Collar Showgirl, Mona DePlume, this is promising to be the show of the year. Not to mention the fact that we are honored to have join us Jackey Neyman Jones, Debbie from Manos: The Hands of Fate, signing her new memoir, Growing Up with Manos: The Hands of Fate!! I apologize for the late posting about this, but I have been so busy creating my costume and props that I’ve had time for little else. I don’t want to blab about my act too much. Suffice to say that it tells the tawdry tale of a befeathered showgirl and her horrifying – but startlingly erotic – encounter with what is left of the victim of a tragic auto accident. Join us, won’t we? Keep circulating the event!

Our First Sold-Out Show (and I MISSED IT!!)

I apologize for being a major slacker in the posting department! I was unable to participate in Rare Vintage Burlesque‘s June show, Love and PRIDE!, due to having to go out of town. Wouldn’t you know it – it was our first sold-out show! And by all accounts, what a show it was. We turned it into a benefit for the families of the victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, and it was a grand success. I apologize again for not posting about this until now. Thank you so much to everyone who attended and all the beautiful performers who made this an unforgettable experience!
