Yes it’s true, I’m back on the stage tonight! It’s been a very long time but tonight is That ’70s Variety Show and you know you don’t want to miss it! Produced by the frightening but fabulous Mister Tickles, I will be joining a stellar cast that includes Marla Darling, Prince Peanut Butter, Kat Van Dayum and Miss Scarlett Thrustmore! I’ll be bringing an old favorite back to the stage, a certain patriotic eagle who will encourage you to give it your all! See you there? Groovy! ✌
My most sincere apologies for not posting about this sooner, but I’ve been so busy lately it’s not even funny. But tonight begins three fabulous nights of glittery goodness at Dante’s in Portland – the fourth annual Oregon Burlesque Festival! Featuring more amazing performers from around the country than you can shake a tail feather at, our smoking hot headliner Ray Gunn, and our own local legend September Rose! I will be performing tonight, an old favorite with an updated (and extremely souped-up) costume! Go here for tickets for tonight, and here and here for Friday and Saturday! There are workshops too – with Ray Gunn and EmpeROAR Fabulous! Portland may be in the grips of a record-breaking heat wave right now, but the weather is not the only thing that’s hot around here! You don’t want to miss this! See you there!
We’re one week out from my next show already! Produced by the one and only Wanda Bones, this one benefits a cause near and dear to my heart.
SMASH THE PATRIARCHY! is our local Portland burlesque community’s response to the growing opposition to women’s health care rights. We stand together for a cause that we believe is essential to showing that women’s health care rights are human rights. In a world where men are the deciding vote on our bodies and our rights we say NO MORE! Together we are dedicating acts and our time to providing money to our local abortion fund, Network for Reproductive Options, for our team BURLESQUEPDX’s Bowl-A-Thon goal! Come to celebrate, rejoice, be angry, fight the system and help us make a stand for what we believe is right!
Bitsy La Rue!
Crush Bar, 1400 SE Morrison, Portland! $10 suggested donation at the door! See you there!!
Better late than never, eh? Ack. My apologies folks! If you’re looking for a way to spend this glum, rainy Portland Wednesday night, might I suggest the second edition of Gods & Monsters? I am so thrilled to be returning to Miss Scarlett Thrustmore‘s stage in this incredible show! If it’s half as good as last year’s, well you are in for a mighty fine treat. Unfortunately Mr. Arcane was not available to join me again for our Myrtle Snow/Spalding act, so this year I’m returning solo with an act that I know will be giving you life! And look at this line-up! Satira Sin! Judy Patootie! Amelia Ala Mode! Lolita Von Honeydew! Sloan Wolfe! Karlie Lever du Soleil! Ivana Mandalay! TL Ford! With DJ Aurora at the turntables and amazing raffle prizes! See you there!
Burlesque is fun, there’s no doubt about that. But sometimes we are called to channel that fun and energy into an important cause that affects us all. I am so thrilled to be a part of this amazing benefit show for survivors of rape and sexual assault. Look at that line-up! Admission is on a sliding scale, cash-only basis, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds! Also bring plenty of cash for the many incredible raffle prizes available! Please join us for an evening of sparkling yet thought-provoking entertainment and support your fellow human beings. It’s time we stand together and declare ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! I certainly hope I’ll be seeing you there!
Loxie is back this month, and boy am I raring to go! This month I and my lovely cohorts at Rare Vintage Burlesque are rolling out the red carpet and saluting some of our favorite films and movie stars! And holy cow, look who our headliner is – none other than The Infamous Nina Nightshade, “Oregon’s First Lady of Burlesque”! Our special guest is that Stone Cold Crazy Cutie, Bettie Velo! And we are thrilled to welcome the fabulous Daria of 105.1 The Buzz as our guest host/MC! I’ll be performing one of my signature numbers, a little something by Ann-Margret from Viva Las Vegas. Click here for the ticket link and get those tickets today – last month’s show sold out, you know! Lights, camera – action!
I apologize for being a major slacker in the posting department! I was unable to participate in Rare Vintage Burlesque‘s June show, Love and PRIDE!, due to having to go out of town. Wouldn’t you know it – it was our first sold-out show! And by all accounts, what a show it was. We turned it into a benefit for the families of the victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, and it was a grand success. I apologize again for not posting about this until now. Thank you so much to everyone who attended and all the beautiful performers who made this an unforgettable experience!
